about our norcross, georgia record shop

nx vinyl was born out of a love for music and how it connects us. when our founder, ron orrell, was around five years old, his grandmother bought him a mickey mouse record player, sharing with him her love of music. she gave him his first ‘45, rhinestone cowboy by glenn campbell, and he played it so much he wore out the grooves. this was only the beginning of ron’s vinyl collection. years later, he would pass down his love of music to his son, braxton, by playing rhinestone cowboy for him on that same ‘45. the joy and excitement his son had for music brought a smile to ron’s face as he realized how valuable music was for creating beautiful memories between people.

over the years, ron would lose his collection. but he would still have those memories. until years later, he started collecting again, visiting record stores across atlanta bringing his love and passion for music to the people of norcross. he started djing for local spots such as cultivation brewery and b&w (check them out!) and discovered how much he loved simply meeting new people and connecting with them about music. so many people, young and old, have such a love for vinyl records, so he decided to establish his own record store right here in norcross, georgia. as of 2024, we’ve opened our doors to the public, with a humble mission of helping to create fond memories and lifelong connections through the power of music. nx vinyl aspires to be the kind of place anyone can walk in, whether they’re out for saturday brunch or just walking their dog, and find something that catches their interest. it’s a museum and a record store in one, our walls decorated from floor to ceiling with music memorabilia and authentic concert posters. we broadcast live concerts on all of our tvs in each of our assorted rooms with the help of our sister business, video innovation. nx vinyl is a place to explore, discover, connect, and most importantly of all, make memories.

(and by the way, if anyone knows about an original mickey mouse record player from around 1975, we’re interested!)
